Hi,

I have the Ariya Engage, but I was wondering if anyone has the same experience where after finishing charging at EVgo or chargepoint, sometimes I have to keep locking and unlocking the car until it released the charger. Is there a better way to do this?

I had to do this once only out of 6 different charges

That happened to me first time charging. I think it was issue with the charging unit and not the car. Hasn’t happened since then. Have charged 4 times at fast charges since then and no problem. Also, no problem with my level 2 charger at home.

This has happened multiple times for me, using EVgo and Electrify America. I call customer support and the solution is always to lock/unlock the car multiple times. The Electrify American station was having a problem. For the EVgo stations, I am not sure if the matter is due to EVgo or Nissan. Annoying...and surprising as I thought the systems would be mature enough by now to have addressed such problems.

I noticed Ariya does not unlock the charger once the charging session is complete at the DC fast chargers. Locking and unlocking the car, helped to release the charger lock.

Apparently you can specify if it uses the lock mode or not. But it seems to default to lock into fully charged.

There is also a manual release under the hood just in case. Shown in page 25 of the ERG. Not sure if there is a difference between using the J1772 or CCS.
