After two visits to the Nissan dealership, it was confirmed today that the noise originates from the component responsible for transferring power between the electric motor and the drivetrain. The required parts have been ordered, and with some luck, the repair will be completed within two weeks. The repair is fully covered under warranty.
Awesome that the issue has been correctly detected and diagnosed.

Attached the repair list, quite an extensive list of components. I had actually expected that an entire component would be replaced, rather than so many individual parts.

As I understand on that list the "component" is a single one, the new reducer gear box, but as with engine blocks, it comes from the factory without "accesories", so seals, oil, gaskets and so on have to be ordered separately and most of the aren't reusable from the previous unit so... seems normal to me.

Thank you for this analysis , you might be right. The technician told me that he spent two days on it, including an extensive test run.

This is great. Sounds like he took his time to do the job correctly. Let's hope it all stays working perfect. I spend alot of my time fixing other peoples mistakes so I really admire when someone does the job correctly.

Since the repair, I have already made a trip to Belgium and I’m planning to take a trip to the Dolomites soon, so far, everything has been running smoothly."
