Has anyone heard or seen any info on if Nissan has started building AWD models yet?
The beauty of the Ariya is in the evening when the headlights and fog lights are turned on ..The vehicle stands out especially if you're at the front of the street intersection lights. This car is really rare to see in the streets. I've only seen one, but I think the same one 3 times, since it was the same location and color. A few weeks ago I saw a Mercedes EQS SUV, Toyota BZ4X at EVGO, and parked Lambo Urus SUV all in the same block.
Shouldn’t be hard if you use the history search.
If I’m lucky, the vinyl wrap guy will show up at the dealership again. I will video record him removing the mirror cover and see if there’s a pre installed wiring harness to plug in. Will advise sooner or later.Yes! You'd think so! I went through my history and even filtered it down to youtubes, but apparently I've been through hundreds of assorted mirror upgrade and replacement videos, not to mention other videos where I was researching how to fix the flush valve on Mom's toilet (I did manage to fix it, BTW), silly/cute animal videos, and of course instant karma videos! But shame on me for watching way too much video. Rather than linking here and littering the forum, I'll say that I found the mirror replacement and upgrade videos by searching for "nissan door mirror turn signal replacement", I tried searching for Ariya specific ones, but still couldn't find any. There are quite a few for Rogue and Qashqai, and I'm thinking they may be similar enough, but could be wrong. There are even videos of how to replace an entire mirror assembly and wire it (have to take off the inside of the door - yikes). The videos where the person is just replacing an existing turn signal with an LED one seemed the most applicable. All of those involved removing the mirror glass from a motor assembly that it is attached to on the backside, and then removing the mirror assembly cover (the shell-like part that is the "back") -- to get that off there are about a half dozen little tabs are accessible after the mirror glass is out of the way. Sometimes they remove the motor, too, to get to a couple more tabs that are located behind it. I'm assuming the mirror assembly cover for Ariya is kinda similar (but do not know for sure), but you'd have to see what kinds of tabs it has and just where they are located. They would then remove the old light strip and put in the new one, simply plugging in the existing wire. That's another thing to verify with Ariya -- assuming the wiring is already there, does it also already have the proper little plastic plug that will insert into the light strip? With some videos the demonstrator found it easier to work around the door mirror if they rolled down the window for more elbow room and all, and that way could also put a towel or blanket to protect the finish if a tool was dropped or something. Also, when taking off the mirror glass, one demonstrator put some painter's tape along the edge of the mirror assembly, so when they were reaching in with a screwdriver to release the motor assembly tabs they wouldn't accidentally scrape other parts. Thanks @Hank for checking pricing for the components, you're right that they are about 25% less online.
Thank you! Yes, it would also be good to know for sure if it simply involves a twist off of the shell-like portion, rather than removing the glass and all. I think the shell piece gets replaced anyway because the new one has to have a cutout to accommodate the LED strip. If I’m lucky, the vinyl wrap guy will show up at the dealership again. Lots of dealers in the Seattle region with Platinum + (dozens of window stickers up here with VIN numbers) showing up on their websites. Also Southern California with many listed as well.I see the Platinum count is up to 4 on Cars.com
Yes looking forward to seeing more show up! One of the 4 listed on cars.com has disappeared (the Putnam one), leaving the 3 Bellingham ones. So good to see that they are finally arriving! The copper one could be a replacement for a reservationist's passion red, or could be a shop from home order. Copper was not available to reserve in the Platinum trim back during reservation time.View attachment 1813
All 5 units have build dates of 12/22 and 1/23. All 5 have been accounted for.
If one of the 5 units aren't sold, I will get to test drive one soon! 😆
