It might look like just a smaller Ariya, but it isn't. There are lots of differences. The Ariya has far more features and can be all wheel drive with better performance. The new Leaf is a nice vehicle. But outside resemblance doesn't tell the whole story.

 

I'm very happy with my Ariya, and it's still pretty new with only 40K miles on it. My wife likes the new Leaf a lot but her '14 Prius Plug In (with 210K miles on it) remains completely trouble-free, so it might be a while yet unless one of the kids needs a car and pushes her to do it sooner. She'll likely also look at the '26 Toyota bZ and CH-R. She's been very happy with her Toyotas.

 

No, mostly because repair on our Ariya has been slow and I expect selling more EVs will further swamp the few EV techs. But I guess that depends on local dealers.

 

I loved my 2018 Leaf that I traded for my current Ariya, and I'll admit I was tempted to check it out since I loved its size. But, when I heard that the new Leaf has the same e-Step system as the Ariya that isn't true one-pedal driving, I knew I'd be staying put with my Ariya.

 

I’ll test drive it but I know I won’t be sold. Very sad Ariya fan here. I lease with only 12 payments left. Come this time next year I’ll be without a car. I refuse to go back to pumping gas! The EV6 is way overpriced. I’ll test drive the Leaf only. The dealerships keep telling me how awesome the Leaf will be. They got the wrong person! Not a fan already. It resembles a Tesla. I don’t care the fact it has all the new technology. I like the size of the Ariya and the Leaf won’t have all the features like Ariya if the game is to keep costs down. Leaf comes Platinum but it’s still a $43k manufacturer price. Very upset with this announcement. I’d flip this one for a 25 but it’s driving my payment up $300. Plus you can’t lease them now. I should’ve kept the Platinum Rogue I had prior for the last 18 months. All I do is put down big money on leases and turn them over with little mileage and down payments. I should buy something. But I won’t buy gas so I’ll see if we can swing one car next year. I work remote so it doesn’t matter. I hate this timeline. Going to miss my car. Anybody here purchase an EV? Do you feel ok with that?

1) You can buy out the car with your lease. At least, that is my understanding.
2) You could turn around and just buy a low-mileage used Ariya if the buyout is not good.

I buy all my vehicles. But I also keep my cars for a loooong time and put low mileage on them. Leasing is pushed hard by dealerships, and there is a reason for that. It is typically much better for them, not the customer.

There isn't "all new technology" in the new Leaf, compared to the Ariya. The largest technology change is the infotainment. And that is essentially the same head unit, just with Google's OS instead of Nissan's.

Plus they threw in the Tesla adapter for free. And I got $2500 back from my state. I am praying that Nissan brings the Ariya back. I don't want a Leaf.

Local Cleveland area dealerships have great deals on new ariyas. Looks like they clearing them out.

I am really surprised they have a new 2024 on their lot. Maybe it was a lightly driven demo or something? That is an amazing price for a E4force (although not Platinum).
