For those who have already received the update... Does it work well? Does the phone disconnect immediately after you exit the car?
My wife has been using it daily since Saturday. She loves it. I asked her if its been working as she expected and she replied with a very resound "Yes".
She also uses Waze (is that how you spell it?). Everything appears to be well incorporated into the center screen.

From the few times I've ridden in the Ariya this week it seems to operate seamlessly and very smooth and "quick".

UPDATE: Wireless Android Auto update started rolling out to everyone in USA on June 21, 2025!

Original posting below:

------------------------

Just creating a thread for a split off from the May/Jun 2025 system update thread which did NOT include wireless Android Auto: https://www.ariyaforums.com/threads/may-2025-ota-software-update.2935

The first word of Nissan possibly/finally supporting it seems to be in this thread: https://www.ariyaforums.com/threads...eads/2024-10-10-a-software-update-will-be-distributed-for-the-nissan-ariya.2388 But it was several months ago and for Japan only. But it does mention "Addition of wireless compatibility for Android Auto"

In the first-mentioned thread, was a cross-post from Reddit where someone was showing a software update that specifically indicates wireless Android Auto: under a thread of "Second OTA Update - USA". Even with a screenshot. As of this posting, a few additional users on Reddit have confirmed receipt of this second update and two confirmed it actually works.

If you do get this second update, please let us know! There are probably a lot of people interested in this.
Completed the update, but still no wireless android auto. I removed my Pixel 9 from the Ariya and deleted MyAriya from my phone and re-paired Any suggestions?

There were two small updates to enable this, but I noticed I had to turn off the vehicle for awhile then come back later and start the car. Then it asked if I wanted to enable it.

OK, I have used it "for real" now. And now I understand why people like Android Auto. Still trying to figure it out, though. It shows Pandora, still, which I never use and don't want and have no idea how to remove or replace with "Oto Music" which is the only app I would use for music (and is not in selections). Anyway, it connected correctly when I went on my errands trip today and was very helpful. I decided to try it's nav, with voice, and it did exactly what I wanted/expected. On the way there it warned me about an accident, which was correct, it said it would still be faster to stay on interstate (which it probably was), after 5 min of crawling, it asked if the accident and then police were still there, I confirmed (and it thanked me for helping others), it led me right to the Nissan dealer.

I left the car "on" when I went in the dealership, taking my phone with me, of course. When I came back out, it reconnected quickly and I was on my way. But on the SECOND stop, which I did the same thing, it would not reconnect. It kept trying over and over again, which was annoying. It would take over the screen for a second, then disappear, rinse and repeat, the whole way to my next stop. There I turned the car off during my visit. When I came back, it connected perfectly again. So I am not sure what that was about.

I will point out that Wireless Android Auto hammers the phone's battery. My total of an hour out, more than half of it stopped and not in the car, phone screen off the whole time, not streaming music or anything (I use USB flash drive) it used up 20% of the battery. So I can see why people might want to charge it while using this feature. So keep an eye on your battery!

I also have the AAWireless2 adapter. It's night and day. The AAWireless adapter would constantly hijack my Bluetooth whenever the USB port would power on, i.e, when charging etc. So I might be in the house wanting to play music or a podcast, and the audio was going to the car, even if I wanted to just play it on the phone speaker. If I turned off Bluetooth, the AAWireless adapter would turn it back on in seconds. Very malicious behavior.

The built in AA works perfectly.

On your phone, go into settings. Search for Android Auto. In Android Auto settings go to "Customize launcher". There you'll be able to select and organize what shows up on the Android Auto screen. You don't need your car to do this, so you can do it while away from your car.

I'm going to point out that while leaving the vehicle on, locking and walking away is the best feature ever I don't think the vehicle likes it when the key walks away. I would expect issues when it detects the key missing AND your phone disconnects. This is not the way it was intended to be used, so it doesn't surprise me that it would have issues reconnecting when returning to a vehicle that is left on but with the key not detected. My 0.2 cents on the matter.

Thanks, but there is no option to program what is on the screen there. Only what is shown in the launcher and "all apps" button. The screen control part is what I am missing (what shows on the screen and why, what options for split screen, etc) and doesn't seem to be anywhere. I need to sit and watch some Android Auto 101 video at this point :)

Oh, I agree that it could have caused a problem because that is not a typical use case. Although it worked fine the first time I did it (and it was the longest time, I think 20 min maybe?) just not the second time. So who knows. But I am never going to leave the car "on" and locked with me out of it with fob.... but leave phone in the car. Not happening, since phone is in pack with fob, wallet, meds, etc, and that typically goes everywhere with me.

What we really want is an option to "leave HVAC on with car off." But where to put it, how long, and I think it would confuse people.

An interesting change i just noticed from the last update. I do not use WAA and only have my phone connected for audio and phone.
Before when I would place or receive a call the large window would pop up in the center screen and when the call would commence the window would stay blocking whatever was there before. Now when the call is ringing the window still pops up but now when the call commences the window goes away and a small strip at the bottom of the screen appears with a "hang up" or "X" icon to close the small strip. This is great and I consider a fantastic improvement.

I really wish they would document this stuff. On most systems, it is called "release notes". I mean, if you are going to add nice improvements like what you posted, why would they not want to toot their own horns and show them off? Why should we have to guess all of what is in an update? Strange.
